12th Annual Gettysburg All-Star Conference & Tour ~ June 9-11

On June 9, 2017 - 08:30 - June 11, 2017 - 11:30
  • Activity Level: Easy

We enthusiastically announce our 2017 Gettysburg All-Star Conference & Tour, which promises to be outstanding! Designed for serious yet fun-loving students of the Gettysburg Campaign, our program will include half-day battlefield tours on Friday morning (Cemetery Hill), Saturday afternoon (Cemetery Hill continued) and Sunday morning (Evergreen Cemetery), led by peerless battlefield guides Gary Kross and Charlie Fennell. On Friday afternoon we will bus to the National Civil War Museum and enjoy a “Behind the Scenes” tour led by the Museum staff. We will see and be amazed by artifacts not available for public display. Saturday morning at the 1863 Inn of Gettysburg will feature historians Zachary A. Fry, Timothy H. Smith and Roger D. Heller who are preparing some especially intriguing talks for us on topics as shown below.

Two spirited social events will further enliven our three day adventure. On Friday evening, from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM, we will host an Open Bar at the popular pub O’Rorke’s, just across the street from our  hotel. You’ll be on your own for food, but we’ll treat for the drinks. And on Saturday evening, at the nearby home of Roger and Lynn Heller, we will enjoy a delicious buffet dinner after which we'll present The Donald A. Weiland Spirit of Gettysburg Award, given annually to an individual or individuals for “contributions of support and congeniality to the CWEA's Gettysburg programs. Some "home-brewed" entertainment will cap off a memorable evening.

Don't miss this exciting production of CWEA's 2017 Gettysburg All-Star Conference & Tour. You'll Learn Plenty and Have a Very Good Time. And you'll Eat Well too. JOIN US!
